Portorož is the centerpiece of this beautiful coastline, a small town that is one of the most popular destinations along this 46 kilometers-long stretch of Slovenian sea access. The sandy beach of Portorož is central and spacious, with a wooden pier that is typical of the region. Historic buildings invite you to collect an array of cultural experiences; the church of Saint  Bernhardin is a monastery dating back to the 15th century, perched in a beautiful location on a hill. A hallmark of Portorož are its renovated hotels along the beach promenade, with a retro look that radiates elegance. Wellness and spa experiences have a special role to play in this part of the world, with treatments that are based on mud and brine from the nearby saltworks in Sečovlje.

Portorož is the southernmost marina on the Slovenian Adriatic, in the northeast of the bay of Piran, only a few nautical miles from the neighboring country of Croatia. Marina Portorož is divided into two basins and, because it is sheltered from the wind, is especially popular. The harbor provides a complete infrastructure including restaurants and cafés as well as plenty of shops to cover all of your daily needs. Meanwhile, the town is easy to reach using public bus services.

Check-In

Check-in is after 3 p.m. and check-out is by 10 a.m. Please do your best to comply with those times. Upon arrival at the Portorož marina, please pull a ticket at the entrance gate, which will then open the gate and allow you to pass.

If you arrive at the marina before 8 p.m., we ask you to register directly at the reception, provide the contact information for everyone in your party and pay the local visitors’ tax. At the reception, you will also receive your personal chip providing access to the houseboat you have reserved. This chip likewise opens the gate at the entrance to the marina for the duration of your stay.

Free parking is available to you close to your houseboat. While you are checking in and unloading, you are welcome to drive right up to your houseboat, after which we ask you to leave you car at one of the free parking spaces nearby.

Please try your best to arrive before 8 p.m. since the reception desk is only staffed until then. If you are unable to arrive earlier, we will leave your key with the gatekeeper at the entrance to the marina. That said, we will still need you to stop by and register at the reception, which opens at 8 o’clock the next morning.
